sand Grains 2021

Sand grains are stones or mountains that over time have broken down into a tiny tiny particle. In the installation ‘SAND GRAINS’, Anne Nowak reverses the process and lets the sand grain grow again. The work is a reflection on the sense of time and the feeling that time can go slowly and almost stop.

‘SAND GRAINS’ draws its colorful inspiration from the rocks Artist Palette in the desert Death Valley in the USA. Many hundreds of years of erosion from the harsh environment have exposed the minerals in the rocks and given the landscape blue, green, yellow, red and purple tones. A transformation that comes from both internal and external influences.

A part of a group exhibition at VENT, Copenhagen.
